Why I Created Camp Days: Helping Parents Find Trusted Camps Year-Round

A founder’s story about simplifying camp discovery, supporting busy families, and creating a trusted resource for camps beyond summer.

The idea for Camp Days, a year-round camp discovery platform for parents and caregivers, started on a busy Saturday morning while I was drinking my coffee. In that moment, it became clear that families needed a better way to find trusted camps and programs for kids — not just during summer, but throughout the entire year. As a mom navigating school breaks, holidays, and busy schedules, I wanted to create a simple, reliable tool that helps parents easily search, compare, and feel confident choosing camps that fit their children’s needs.

As a mom of three young children, I understand firsthand how overwhelming it can be to juggle busy schedules, school calendars, and ongoing childcare needs. Camp programs aren’t just for summer — between the 11 national holidays each year, multiple school breaks during the academic year, and summer vacation, parents often need dependable options for their children throughout the year. Camp Days was created to be a reliable, year-round resource for families, helping parents feel confident and secure in the camps and programs they choose during every season.

My goal was to build one central hub where families could easily explore hundreds of kids camps and enrichment programs, read and leave honest reviews, find camps that truly fit their children, and even share plans with friends. I also felt strongly about creating an inclusive platform, especially for parents of neurodivergent children, so families could identify camps in their area that understand, support, and accommodate their child’s unique needs.

Camp Days was built with community at its heart. My hope is for it to continue growing into a trusted, go-to platform for parents — one that supports families year-round and introduces exciting new features along the way.
